KAMPALA. Kenya won both the boys’ and girls’ trophies at the inaugural Copa Coca-Cola Under-16 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday at Afraha stadium, Nakuru.
The boys’ represented by St Anthony, Kitale, emerged winners on post-match penalties over Nigeria, after playing to a barren draw in regulation time.
The girls, Nangili Girls, beat their only opponents Zimbabwe 1-0 to complete the clean sweep, with a 3-0 aggregate score having won 2-0 on the opening day.

Hosts superb
Kenya were always the better team for most parts of the game as Nigeria’s goalkeeper Moses Aluko kept his team hoping with a string of impressive saves.
Uganda was eliminated by Kenya from the 12-team tournament at the quarterfinal stage on Thursday.
Buddo SS, Uganda’s representatives, took the beating as a learning curve.
Coach Simon Peter Mugerwa said after the team’s exit: “My team was very focused but it was not our day. I am hopeful next year we will be better,” he said.
