Kampala. URA have found goals hard to come by this season with the tax collectors having scored 11 goals in 14 first round league games thus far. On Friday in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 they scored almost half that tally thrashing visiting third tier club Synergy 5-1 at the Mandela National Stadium.
Coach Sam Simbwa believes the result reflected the club’s ambition in the tournament as well as send a message to their next opponents Vipers who they play 11 days from today. “Of course we are in the competition to win it. We should have scored more goals but the result still sends a message to our opponents,” he said after the game.

Striker Robert Mukongotya scored a brace missed several other opportunities as URA added just one goal to the four they scored in the first half.
They were given an early scare when Robert Sentongo gave the Brian Ssenyondo coached side an early lead from a penalty before Saudi Kyeyune and Patrick Mbowa restored parity before Ronald Musana ensured a 4-1 first half lead.
