KAMPALA. Pre and post match press conferences can sometimes be very predictable with players and coaches stating the obvious things.
Consequently not too many people could have taken Cromwell Rwothomio serious when he talked up URA’s chances of contesting for the StarTimes Uganda Premier League crown.

The Tax Collectors, with another game in hand, had just moved to within 11 points of leaders KCCA with the forward scoring in a 2-0 win over his former side Paidha Black Angels.
The result was also their third straight win, making them the most in-form side in the league.
But on Friday, given an opportunity to further enhance those title claims, the Sam Simbwa coached side showed little signs of being title contenders, playing out a 1-all draw with visiting Bul who were the better side for large spells.

Rwothomio was again on the score sheet finishing off a fine team move that was initiated by captain Shafik Kagimu who beat two opponents before releasing Peter Lwasa on the right in the second minute.
The forward’s centre was precise and at that moment were tempted to believe URA were set to showcase the fluidity for the rest of the game.
That didn’t materialise with Bul giving the trident of Kagimu, Saidi Kyeyune and Charles Sempa little space to wreck havoc.
But it took until the hour mark for the Jinja based side who struck the crossbar twice to equalize with Richard Wandyaka bundling home Umar Mukobe’s precise freekick.

“We played without typical strikers because our forwards got an accident just after our last training,” coach Peter Onen said of the absence of forwards James Otim Deogratious Ojok afterwards.
The pair sustained injuries in a boda boda accident with fears they could miss the rest of the season.
