Kampala. Paa Kwasi Fabin says his Uganda Cubs side can stage a comeback to keep their World Cup dream alive.

Uganda left the National Stadium of Dar es Salaam with a 1-0 loss to Angola in their opening game of the U-17 Afcon on Sunday.

Osvaldo Capemba’s scorcher in the 33rd minute handed Uganda a loss to stay bottom of Group A but Kwasi said his team can correct their mistakes and beat hosts Tanzania in their next game tomorrow.

“We’re still in this tie,” said the Ghanaian tactician after the game. “We gave them licence to play. They had one chance and took it. We had several and missed them. That was the difference,” he added.

Uganda created several chances but strikes from Najib Yiga, Ibrahim Juma, Andrew Kawooya, Abdul Wahid Iddi and second half substitute Ibra Mugulusi proved futile.

But the Cubs face a distraught Tanzania, who lost 5-4 against the other group members Nigeria.
The Nigerians lead Group A followed by Angola on three points while Uganda and Tanzania have no points at all.
