Villa coach Bamweyana to step aside

Douglas Bamweyana

Douglas Bamweyana will not be in the dug-out for their final league fixture at home to Nyamityobora on Saturday, Daily Monitor understands.
Impeccable sources tell Daily Monitor the decision was reached yesterday with hitherto assistant Simon Mugerwa taking charge of the team’s morning training session at Villa Park in Bamweyana’s absence.
This was followed by a meeting between interim chairman William Nkemba and the players in which they are believed to have been told of the decision.

“Everything will be fine. Villa issues are sorted in-house,” Nkemba responded when queried about the meeting with players that ended shortly before 2.00pm.
This followed fans unrest in the immediate aftermath of the club’s 2-1 home loss to Tooro that left them only five points above Ndejje who occupy the final relegation spot.
Bamweyana has taken charge of 21 league games winning and losing six games apiece as well presiding over nine draws since taking charge in November.
