Villa seek to end seven-match winless streak in Buhinga

It has been a bumpy journey thus far for SC Villa coach Moses Basena in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Occupying the basement of the 16-team table, Basena’s sole prayer today when his side visits Tooro United is to taste their first win in seven games – thus saving Villa misery and to large extend his job.

To his delight, Basena faces an equally wallowing Tooro United that has managed just five points from the possible 21, with their coach Wasswa Bbosa, who gave the Jogoos to league victory hope last season, absent (on Kobs duty in South Sudan).

Yet as he welcomes back midfielder David Owori and defender Yusuf Mukisa, Basena will be without forward Joseph Ssemujju, also with the Kobs side in South Sudan.

A leaky defence that has conceded 11 goals and a blunt attack force that has managed only six goals highlight the record league champions’ major dilemma – and Basena will seek a positive response against Tooro United this after at Buhinga Stadium.

A win will lift Villa to 12th position while Tooro United, yet to win in five matches, can go 11th with victory. Villa defeated Tooro United, then Soana, home and away last season.
