Saturday’s clash between second placed SC Villa and third placed Vipers is still in balance after league CEO Bernard Bainamani asked the former to channel their request of having the fixture rescheduling to Fufa.
Villa Monday wrote to the league secretariat requesting that their game be postponed following the club’s delayed return from Vietnam.
In his response however Bainamani advised Villa, who had sought permission to travel between November 19-30, to seek guidance from the domestic football federation.
“….We therefore advise you to address the matter to the office of the CEO FUFA which will in turn advise us on the course of action regarding the fate of the above fixture.
Otherwise, your game against Vipers SC stands as per the fixture,” the statement read in part.
According to Villa CEO Ivan Kakembo, they heeded the advice and were by press time still awaiting response from the federation.
The club yesterday completed their 10-day tour to the Far East with a 1-0 loss to Geoffrey Kizito’s Gthan Quang Ninh club yesterday.
This was the team’s second straight loss following the 2-1 defeat at the hands of another Vietnamese side Da Nang and winning two and drawing the other earlier fixtures.
