Kampala. Last year’s Stanbic Uganda Cup losing finalists Vipers have every reason to assume the favourite’s tag going into their round of 32 clash against Kansai Plascon at St Mary’s Stadium today evening.

The game comes at a time when new coaches Michael Ouma and Edward Golola are searching for the right attacking combinations ahead of their Caf Confederation Cup return leg against Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien. The Venoms will need to score goals to progress after being frustrated to a goalless draw against Sfaxien.

The result followed a 3-0 win over Ounduparaka that came on the back of two goalless draws. “It is good for my players to create chances. If I can photo back in previous games the team was not creating chances.

“But if they are now creating chances it is a positive thing for me. The only thing that I will now ensure is they find the back of the net. Next time we will see what comes,” Ouma said after the Sfaxien game.

Noah Wafula was particularly wasteful on his return after missing the previous three games.

They play a Kansai Plascon side that is fourth in the Big League Rwenzori Group in what is a repeat of last season’s quarterfinal decided by a Dan Sserunkuma goal. They will look to Henry Kitegenyi who has five goals to his name in 10 league games this season and scored six times in last season’s fairytale run.

Also in the ranks of the Angelo Lonyesi-coached side is Robert Sentongo Junior and the experienced pair of Sijali Jamali and Allan Oryek.
