KAMPALA. Three second half goals from Hassan Wasswa Dazo, skipper Ali Feni and Ivan Kiweewa have given Wakiso Giants a 3-0 home win against Kataka and their first Fufa Big League victory of the season.

It took until the 53rd minute for Wakiso Giants, who host their games at Bugembe, to score their first game through Wasswa’s header as the big spending side moved second behind leaders, Light SS.

Daniel Otim salvaged the narrow victory for the Soroti side with a well taken free kick in the 89th minute.
It was sweet victory as Ibrahim Kirya’s boys who turned to the fainting dance craze popularly known as Malwedhe Challenge to celebrate the morale-boosting victory.

There were never questions about the ability of this star-studded side but pressure was building following two opening draws. For Kirya, the only thing that mattered was picking up a first win of the season.
“This is huge for us because I think everybody knows we are able to play better,” he said.

“We deserved more. The team showed effort, but we have to continue improving so as not to waste chances. We need to cut out the defensive errors,” he said.
His compatriot, Peter Musoke, was rather happy with his first point of the season.
“A point is deserved. Now we have to focus on the next games,” he said.
