Always keep your relationship away from social media

Social media is not only a platform that was created to link the world together, but a source of destruction if not used well. I understand the temptation to post everything about your life and getting a few likes but social media friends are like the ocean, it is nice and calm today but wavy and rude tomorrow.

Recently, most marriages have tested the wrath of social media. Couples have continuously brought their battles on the platforms and later wondered why everyone is in their business.

“I wonder why all of a sudden, my marriage matters have become public interest, “one gentleman said. Well, social media was busy jumping on any hot topic in the world, weeping for the people dying, laughing at comedy shows and critiquing the politicians when you decided to openly share your love story to the world.

Maybe people never know the impact of these platforms but once something is posted on the Internet, you might delete it from your page but you might not erase it completely. Recently, social media was on fire over a husband who ‘humiliated’ his wife and mother of his children by sharing more than the public wanted to know. More individuals and groups came together to give counsel to the couple.
Some counsel was helpful but others preferred to drag the man and hang him by his words.

The social media platform and its users are individuals who will burn you today and yet move on to a different topic tomorrow. But by the time they are through with you, you will be a bleeding soul seeking to hide from everybody, including yourself.

People can fall in love and break-up when things do not work out, that is not breaking news. What matters is how you choose to resolve that break-up. In a state of bitterness, people cross all lines and allow the hatred and anger to take over. Cry all you need in your bedroom and dry your tears. Social media ‘friends’ you want to involve do not know the full story and they will judge you instantly.

Let us get back to the roots. If you want to resolve a relationship conflict, involve your families and courts of law as it used to be. Shaming your partner on social media is like opening the door to let an elephant into your house; it will only destroy you and forget your kindness to offer shelter.
