If he mistreats you, he does not love you

If someone falls in love, it is just natural that he will want to treat you well and make you the happiest woman alive. But if at some point he stops desiring to please you, it is a sign that maybe he is tired of you and all he wants is to add you to his list of exes.

Sarah had an amazing relationship with James. The two were too adorable for a Ugandan couple. He treated her like those Hispanic guys in soap operas do and she was on cloud nine. Well, it was just good as it lasted. After a year and few months, Mr Perfect slowly started to withdraw.

Sarah created all kinds of excuses for his behaviour and we could not agree more. I mean, maybe he was stressed or an evil genie had taken over his body because why would a once nice man turn into a wolf?

Sarah had kept it a secret until James hit her with a plate one night during an argument. She dodged it but got a cut on the side of her eye and the bruises were visible even with the many layers of makeup she wore in an effort to cover up. It was our concern and as always we gave advice but knowing how much she loved him, we did not push so hard lest we become the enemies during their pillow talk. He apologised and Sarah thought she had survived the storm. Alas! It was not over, on the contrary, it was just the beginning of her nightmare.

Slowly by slowly, their relationship hit numerous rocks that Sarah cried her eyes dry and decided to seek help. A few friends had seen James in compromising situations with a certain socialite. He dismissed the allegations claiming he was just being a gentleman.

It went on for some time until Sarah ran out of excuses and decided to play the sneaky girlfriend.
Her suspicions were proved when she knocked at his door and the new girlfriend opened wearing nothing else but his sweater.

She tried to cause a scene but James ordered his gateman to throw her out. She had got her answer to a question why her Prince charming had all of a sudden turned into an evil dragon spiting fire and causing bruises. The love between them had died and all Sarah was chasing was just chaff.

Sometimes you just have to enjoy love when you can. Some people do not want to just walk away from a relationship peacefully, they prefer bruising the victim and crashing all the emotions in her to a point that no one else will want to love such a bitter person. Watch out for the signs if you want to guard your heart. A person who loves you will treat you well, if that changes, then maybe it is time to let go.
