Don’t just sit there and cry, fight for your marriage

“There’s no crown for spouses who watch their marriages slide further away each day and all they do is wail and hug pillows. No, marriage isn’t for cowards and if no body told you before you tied that knot then consider this breaking news that has lived longer than life itself.
Marriage just like any other entity of life will face challenges and only the strong can keep that ring. Your sweetheart today might threaten you tomorrow but the first instinct shouldn’t be joining Hussein Bolt and flee. No my dear, even tears might not save you this time.
People will always find fault in whatever you do, you friends might encourage you not to fight but sometimes you just have to switch on the Mute button. It’s so absurd when people turn the right into wrong and convince us that the wrong is actually right.
Well, dear married people; I hope you do not listen to their discouraging words pushing you into believing that fighting for your marriage is a sin. No, its alright to fight for your marriage, protect your spouse and your children until death do you apart.
People will expect you to fight for your land from the notorious land grabbers, complain when KCCA is imposing heavy taxes on your business, sue that teacher who beat your children just because they failed a subject but expect you to play mute when husband snatchers start calling your spouse late in the night.
One grown lady once said, “Well, if my spouse is being tempted by the devil to cheat and break his promises, I will be the angel in his ear reminding him of what he shouldn’t do, even if it means dragging him by the ear until the devil flees.” Do not lose without a fight; if your marriage is to run down the drain, then it will have to first go through you.
The fight referred to is not of physical fist exchange and pulling each other’s ears. Though some people believe that that’s one way of fighting the marriage-breaking devil but there are many more ways of saving that marriage. Most people will agree with me that prayer is one way of fighting without getting yourself dirty. You just have to put in a few days of prayers and maybe fasting and watch God chase away all those girls who act as agents of destruction. Yes, it’s possible.
Sometimes you have to play smart and remind your spouse of why he or she chose you in the first place. Yes, do not give up on your marriage just because some temptations have risen up..
