Urban gospel rapper, Edwin Ruyonga’s Victory Music concert lived up to its billing at Legends Bar on Friday. The little known rapper proved his lyrical prowess with freestyle inspiring flows and Bible verses about Jesus and crucifixion.
This poorly attended show kicked off at 8pm with performances by some unsung singers like Levixone, Lala, S4J, Coopy Bly, Richy and Benezeri. Ruyonga took to the stage at exactly 9.30pm, performing almost all his songs like Everyday (A Song For Women), Reap What You Sow, Blood Fire Smoke, Battle Cry, Victory and Eija Nkutware (which he performed with JT and T-Bro) this prompted the crowd to get off their seats to sing and dance the ekitaguriro (a Lukiga dance). The show somewhat turned into a crusade when Ruyonga asked the revellers that are not saved to reflect on their lives and accept Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
Maurice Kirya, Enygma, Bigtrill, MoRoots and Lillian Mbabazi also made special appearances to show support to Ruyonga.
Don’t Wanna Fight the remix which Ruyonga performed with Maurice Kirya and Enygma also kept the crowd on their feet. After almost two hours, the weary Ruyonga finally performed the most anticipated song of the night, Tutuuse with Don Mc. This turned out to be the best performance of the night.
