  • Joseph Mulika says all drivers need to make two major checks as part of their travel planning. These include the condition of the tyres and the brakes.

It is almost that time of the year – when most of us decide to embark on those long journeys to the countryside in order to enjoy festivities with relatives and friend. And although most travelers use public means, there is a group that will drive their private cars.

However, do you know what to look out for before travelling?

According to Vicent Lutaaya, a motoring expert, during this long break some of his customers call him over motor vehicle issues such as their cars failing to start after not being in use for two to three days or the engine overheating during the journey among other challenges.

But these are not the only challenges motorists face along the way. That is why you need to prepare prior to setting off.

His counterpart, Joseph Mulika says all drivers need to make two major checks as part of their travel planning. These include the condition of the tyres and the brakes.

Tyres because they experience different levels of wear and so you might find that some of your tyres need replacing more frequently than others.

Breaks because they might have worn out and during a long journey, they end up affecting the disk and drum.

Above all, clean front and rare windscreens are important if you are to have a clear view of the road ahead and other traffic around you. Enjoy your reading.
