Save money, buy a fridge with an in built stabiliser

You can now save the money you have been incurring to purchase cooling devices and power stabilisers to secure refrigerators. Life is bound to get better after the introduction of the Low Voltage Start ability (LVS) refrigerator. LG has introduced onto the Ugandan market Low Voltage start ability (LVS) refrigerators.
“With the new fridges, you don’t require either a stabiliser or power protector to secure the advanced cooling devices. This means that buyers can now save up-to Shs50,000 - Shs180,000 on buying either electricity stabilisers or power protectors. Instead, they can spend the money on buying bigger capacity fridges,” Mr Sachendera Shaw, the sales and marketing manager consumer electronics division at Appliance World Limited told Business Power in a recent interview.
The appliances cost between Shs360,000 and Shs1.5 million in Uganda.
“These new products are totally safe no matter the number of power fluctuations or surges that may occur and it saves people’s hard earned money,” Mr Shaw said. “The compressors of the new equipment are more powerful and energy efficient.”
The refrigerators have been specifically designed for developing and African countries like Uganda where voltage problems are never constant due to power fluctuations.
They come in four different models with capacities ranging from 252 to 342 litres. The beauty about the new models is that they even have bigger capacity compared to the previous models. For instance, the original GR 242 and 302 models have been modified to 252 and 312 models respectively indicating a change in the size of litres they can hold.
But with the capacity and energy efficiency alterations, the price of the products has also gone up by about 9 per cent. For example, the 302 litre initially cost Shs1.2 million but the 312 litre now cost Shs1.3 million.
Even for budget consumers, there is a 50 litre fridge design which costs Shs360,000. But the limitation with the most affordable option is that it limits the user from storing or keeping many items in the fridge, however, it also comes with an in built stabiliser.
