On an otherwise ordinary day at Acacia Mall’s rooftop, a favourite spot for skyline selfies and chilled evening hangs — a strange box appeared. No signs. No instructions. Just mystery. In a city that thrives on curiosity and conversation, the stunt lit up Kampala’s social streets faster than a trending tweet. What was inside? Who was behind it? And most importantly, why was it there?
It didn’t take long for the buzz to snowball into full-blown anticipation. Passers-by and online sleuths were invited to follow a trail of clever clues and guess the name behind the stunt. With each guess, the hype surged. Then, in a dramatic reveal that lived up to the suspense, Castle Lite claimed the moment with a fridge hidden inside the box, an exclusive giveaway, and a high-energy performance of a brand-new track titled Say My Name by hip-hop heavyweight Mun G.
This wasn’t just a stunt. It was a reintroduction.
“We wanted to reconnect with consumers in a way that’s as bold and refreshing as our beer,” said Adu Rando, Managing Director of Nile Breweries. “Castle Lite stands apart with its full-flavored yet crisp taste. ‘Say My Name’ is all about reminding our fans that when you order a Lite, there’s only one name that matters, Castle Lite.”
And fans got the memo. As the fridge opened and the crowd erupted into chants of “When I say Castle, you say Lite!”, it was clear that the campaign had hit the sweet spot. From influencers to media personalities and beer lovers alike, everyone got a taste of Castle Lite’s smooth refreshment ice cold and full of vibe.
Mun G’s exclusive song, created for the campaign, added the final flourish turning a brand moment into a pop culture event. It was a move that cemented Castle Lite’s strong link with music, fun, and innovation. For Brand Manager Eric Malinga, it’s exactly what Castle Lite is all about.
“We push boundaries,” Malinga said. “From our thermo-chromatic indicators that tell you when your beer is perfectly Extra Cold to our ice-proof labels, we innovate beyond the product. ‘Say My Name’ is just the latest chapter in that journey.”
Brewed with premium ingredients and no preservatives, Castle Lite continues to lead the Lite category across Africa from its 1994 South African origins to its current presence in over 10 African markets, including Uganda. In a world of many options, Castle Lite is staking its claim not just on taste, but on experience.
