Choosing jewelry that works for your skin tone

Many a time, when we go jewelry shopping, we are tempted to pick the piece that catches our eye first. You could also be the kind that chooses jewelry because you saw a friend wearing the same. 
But after wearing your jewelry pieces a number of times, you will begin to notice the contrast the jewelry makes with your skin, something that could leave you with lots of pieces that you may never wear again. Here are tips on how to choose the right jewelry for your tone.  

Understand your skin tone first
The easiest way to do this is to consider the area between your bosom and collar bone. Because this area isn’t always exposed to the sun, it would be a great starting point in clearly understanding what your skin tone is. This should be able to tell you if you are cool, neutral or warm toned. 
The colour of the veins on your wrist area is another way of telling your skin tone. Slightly green veins are for a warm toned individual, veins that are leaning towards blue are for the cool tone. And if you do seem to have a mix of both, then you are neutral-toned.  

What to wear for a warm tone
If you are warm-toned, your jewelry choices will vary from pale yellows, rose gold to anything with brass. You need your jewelry to make a statement but not be too loud. You can also incline towards earthy stones, in brown, green or orange hues. 

For the cool toned person 
This skin tone allows you to explore anything that’s in a light shade, such as white gold, platinum or even silver. Should you want to spice this up, choose vibrant stones in purple, pink or blue. 

Neutral 
For the neutral toned person, your choices are endless. You can choose anything that works for the warm or cool tone. What about diamonds you ask? Well, those are perfect for any of the tones.
