Experiment with bold colour combos

What you need to know:

If you are redesigning your wardrobe, then colour combinations is perfect for you. It is classy and timeless. The trick is to wear these in equal proportions to ensure your hues are well balanced.

Colour blocking is possibly one of my favourite styling tricks. There is something satisfying about having two beautiful hues perfectly styled together. And this styling trick particularly comes in handy on those days when you simply cannot figure out what to wear out of your over flowing closet.

Let us take a look at some of the hue combos that are going to give a whole new spin to your fashion and turn you into a fashionista.

Yellow and orange

I know you are wondering how to wear two bold hues. But yellow and orange is a great way to match your outfits. The trick is to wear one of the shades in a minimalist element. For instance, wear your yellow jumpsuit, with A-line leg details. Pair this with an orange cape coat for the perfect finish. I am looking forward to seeing all the cute outfits you are creating from this, and feel free to tag me when you post them up on Instagram.

Pink and marigold

If you are redesigning your wardrobe with inspiration from platforms such as “Emily in Paris” or CW’s Dynasty, then this colour combo is perfect for you. It is classy and timeless. The trick is to wear these in equal proportions to ensure your hues are well balanced. For instance, you can make your pink the baseline for your outfit and add the marigold shade as a throw-on. Some of the latest fashion trends such as wide legged pants or even pleated skirts are the perfect pieces to experiment with this shade combination.

Lilac and ice blue

Pastel hues are a great way to go noticed when you step out. In case you have not figured out how you can wear two “pale shades” in one look, go for lilac and ice blue. The beauty about this combo is that it will give you a chic and fashion forward look. Pair your lilac leather skirt with an ice blue sweater top. Finish this off with some cool knee length boots. Alternatively, choose to wear one of the shades as the main item, and incorporate the other hue in this combination into your accents such as hats, pins or even your jewellery.
