I am human, not perfect- Pallaso

Tell us about yourself…
I am a very talented music artist, a hustler, father, friend and a voice to many. I started singing in nursery school. I recorded my first song in 2003. My breakthrough song was Amaaso; a collaboration with with the Goodlyfe crew, Radio and Weasel. The other hit songs I have done include Go down low, Twatoba, Kona, Mama, Soma, I am coming, Hana, among others.
What have you been up to?
I am compiling an album and shooting music videos. I have so far released Namutima, I am Coming and Hana.
Who influences you, musically?
International artistes Akon and Sean Paul influence me musically because of the remarkable lyrics they have in their songs.
Speaking of music, which female artistes’ music do you enjoy?
Juliana Kanyomozi. I fell in love with the uniqueness of her voice and I also like how she carries herself like a queen.
You were once on Brian White’s podium earlier this year. Are you still working together?
No, I am no longer part of his foundation. (White fired artistes from the podium in May, 2018). But let me clear something up. I was never on the podium. I was just his friend helping him with a few things on his foundation. I am still his friend.
I think he has a good cause. He just has to stick to his plans and not get sidetracked with all the other issues along his way.
Is there any misconception the public has about you?
They have to be reminded everyday that I am not perfect. They expect me to be perfect all the time, yet, I am only human.
What is your take on marriage these days?
Lately, marriage is for show. It is more about how fancy the weddings are. People do not seem to truly understand what it means to stand and vow to be there for each other, for better or worse.
What things interest you in a woman?
Her beauty, hygiene, intelligence, patience, understanding, dreams, good sex and love. And my kind of ideal woman is one who stands with her partner through ups and down and waits patiently with belief that one day, his dreams will come true. She gives him support and lifts him when he fails.
Speaking of which, are you in a relationship?
Yes, I am in a relationship with a lady called Hana. I met her so many years ago at a night hangout spot. Her beauty is irresistible. We have two children together, Dinari and Maisha.
And those irritating things you can’t stand in a woman?
I cannot stand a messy woman. I despise greedy, impatient, unfocused women. I loathe a woman who is loud and who cheats.
Which women have had the biggest impact on your life?
There is my mother, because she gave birth to me. My children’s mother because she made me a father. There is also my sister, because she is the only sister. My nursery school teacher, Aunty Bettie and my Primary Four English teacher, Miss Daisy, among others. In my world, the greatest women in Uganda are my mother, lover, sister and Nabagereka Nagginda.
What life changing piece of advice have you received from any of these women?
My mother insisted that I stay in school and attain an education.
What is the one thing that most people do not know about you?
I have too much love for my mother and children and their mother.
About family
My brothers and I have an incredible relationship because in addition to our shared DNA, we have similar interests and talents which have made us even closer than we would otherwise be. However, I tend to hang out with Weasel more because he lives closer.
