My headache only stops after I vomit

I suffer from intense pain on the left side of my head. This (pain) will not stop until I vomit.  Sometimes I have to forcefully induce the process of vomiting by poking my fingers down my throat so that the pain can subside. Are there drugs to induce vomiting? James Bond

Though headache with vomiting may be associated with serious medical conditions like a brain tumour, one sided headache associated with vomiting is usually due a type of headache called migraine.

Migraines much as they may run in families and affect women more than men, have triggers including stress and anxiety, alcohol especially red wine, hunger, flickering lights, loud sounds and lack of sleep, among others. It is important to identify and deal with the triggers to stem the headache.

It is also important to visit your doctor to rule out other likely serious causes of your headache instead of waiting for or even inducing vomiting yourself.

Drugs for inducing vomiting exist but are not a known treatment for migraine headaches and are therefore not required to treat your condition.
