Why you have too much dust in your house

You have all been in a house, cleaned it and yet, a few days later, it is dusty all again.

Dust is one of the challenges people face and of course, it has its associated dangers. Some are health related while others could be that dust spoiling electronic devices and electricity connectors.

Diana Kabagabe an interior designer explains that if dusting your house has become a routine, you have to look for what the cause of the dust is.

Having dirty waterways

Kabagaye says, having a dirty waterways is one of the main causes of dust because waterways control the dust that comes inside the house.

It’s advisable to service your waterways because when they are dirty they collect a lot of dust from outside and the wind blows it into the house.

She says, no matter how often you dust, you will find another phase of dust particles and debris.

“A waterway cleaning is a great way to start fresh and if it’s thoroughly washed you can take some good time without getting that heavy dust in your house,” she says

Overdue for Maintenance

She says that long overdue air conditioner maintenance can also cause more dust in your home; advising that one should have maintenance at least twice a year.

“As part of your annual maintenance service you have to hire the technicians to do a thorough cleaning of your interior and remove all the dust. During this exercise ask the technicians to loosen moving parts of your air conditioner to make sure it’s well cleaned,” she says

Having dirty AC filter

Kabagaye says that if your filter is dirty it means you will have a lot of dust in your house. You should change the filter in your air conditioner system at least monthly.

“If you have started observing an increase of dust in your home it means that your filter needs to be changed or cleaned. Try to increase the times you change your filter so that you do not allow dust to concentrate in your house,” she says.

Poor air cleaning

She says that if you’re not very keen while cleaning your house it means that you will have more dust in your house because it will keep in compiling.

“If you have pets or kids, you’re likely have more dust if your children have outdoor games they will contribute to the mass of dust entering your house through windows and ventilators,” she says

She adds that’s it’s advisable to have strong purification system to control this dust. Air filters will help you to stop dust from entering your house and it will also capture the biggest percentage of dirt.

“This is one of the best solution not only for dust but also for other dangers like dangerous pests and bacteria as well. An air cleaner is an effective choice for better all-around indoor.”
