Are you closer now or when you were younger?

We are closer now. As rugby players we train together thrice a week and play for Betway Kobs. We even take part in the national team games.

 Describe the last thing you did with your sibling?

We played FIFA fantasy football. This is because it brings out another competitive side of us, and everyone wants to win.

As children, what was your favourite game?

We played many games. First of all, we are natural athletes which means we used to run around a lot, playing all sorts of games like football among others. It is hard to choose which our favourite was.

 Do you ever feel like you compete with each other?

No, away from video games, we tend to be on the same page at all times. Before he joined the Kobs, he played for Rhinos and we competed a number of times. After games, we became the siblings again. 

Which one is more into fashion and trends?

That is me by a mile. I am younger and trendier. Robert comes off as ordinary and simple in all he does.

How often do you argue, and what is the most memorable argument you have ever had?

We have occasionally had arguments but on the whole, we have been a peaceful pair since childhood.

If you got a call that your brother was in jail, what would be the first crime that comes to mind?

Violating traffic regulations. He is capable of going overboard on the road.

In which area are you completely different and in which one are you alike?

I think Robert has obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). We like sports and admire the same sports personalities.

 Do you guys have nicknames for each other?

He calls me Jiquish, a name one of my aunties gave me as a lanky child. I call him Robe, the short form for Robert.

What can you do that your brother cannot?

I am not sure. He is my big brother and I have learnt a lot from him.

Who do you think is your parents’ favourite?

Me. As the young one, I think I get away with a lot more than he does. I could be wrong.

 What is your favourite childhood memory?

Many. Our childhood was eventful. We also enjoyed everything we did as children which makes it almost impossible to single out one.

 What things are you both bad at?

Doing laundry is that one thing we all want to keep away from. It is a task we detest. Apart from that I do not find anything that serious that you can say we are bad at.

What are you good at that people don’t know about?

I am a good cook. Many people cannot imagine me cooking, even when I talk about it they just laugh it off until they get to taste my food. I love cooking and I can prepare a good number of dishes.

What did you mostly fight about as children?

Just like when it came to arguments, we rarely fought.

What habits does your sibling have that you would change if you could?

Robert disappears from family and people. There are times nobody is aware of his whereabouts and we just have to make calls. At the end of the day he is somewhere on his own fine.

What has changed about Robert as he has become older?

He is more focused. Also, making money comes first and you will get him doing all sorts of things. He is a hustler and a hard worker with a range of skills.

Who has more friends and why?

Robert has more friends because he is more outgoing and bold. I am sometimes shy.

Who reads more?

Definitely Robert.

I’m now closer to my brother because while growing up we went to different schools and we only   met during holidays. The holidays too were short back then.

Describe the last thing you did with your sibling?

Competing in video games especially, FIFA fantasy is what we last did together. I think I lost the game yet I taught him how to play the game.

Did you have a favourite game when you were children?

No, growing up we did not spend most of the holidays together, he always travelled to Rwanda. He was a mummy’s boy.

Do you ever feel like you compete?

No, I have never felt any need for competition with him. He is much younger so I would let him take whatever he wanted, if competition arose.

Which one is more into fashion and trends?

He beats me hands down.  He is young and the cool kid. He knows the latest cloth and shoe brands.

How often do you argue, and what is the most memorable argument you have ever had?

Rarely, but the last argument we had was about how excessive alcohol consumption would destroy anyone’s career regardless of their specialty. He did not believe as he cited an example of some of our team mates who drink yet still hit their peaks.

If you got a call that your brother was in jail, what would be the first crime that comes to mind?

During these Covid-19 times, it would be that they were raided at a private party. Otherwise, it would have been a set up.

In which area are you completely different and in which one are you alike?

He parties hard in every sense which is so not me. He knows how to handle and respect a woman and that makes the two of us.

Do you guys have nicknames for each other?

He calls me Robe just like everyone at home, he has no nickname maybe Jiquish, the childhood name which has faded. I do not know what it meant because it was given to him by one of our aunties from Rwanda.

What can you do that your brother cannot?

I can do some hustles which require me getting hands so dirty unlike him. He is more of a white collar job.

Who do you think is your parents’ favourite?

Ian is and has always been and I have never had an issue with that at all.

What is your favourite childhood memory?

I do not recall because our childhood was eventful. We also never saw each other a lot because we attended different schools.

What things are you both bad at?

Washing clothes. We would rather have someone do that for us. It takes a lot of time.

What are you good at that people don’t know about?

We are very patient and we are also good at looking out for our own.
