38-year-old Jinja woman dies after outing with boyfriend

An inquest is underway into the mysterious death of a 38-year-old woman in her house in Buwenge Town Council, Jinja District.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Shakira Babirye died moments after returning from an outing with an unidentified boyfriend who is being sought by police. 

The Kiira Region Police Spokesperson, Mr James Mubi Babirye’s particulars, including her mobile phone, were found at a Guest House where the pair is said to have last been spotted before separating.
“While the particulars of her alleged male companion were missing,” Mr Mubi said.
He added that after the duo separated, the woman went to her home where she was later found dead on Friday morning.

Police detectives have started pursuing leads, including interrogating Babirye’s sister, who said she (Babirye) returned from the said outing at around midnight on Friday when she was “very drunk” and “slept normally.”
Her body was taken to Buwenge Health Centre IV for an autopsy as investigations continue.
