First Deputy Prime Minister Rebecca Kadaga has publicly called out two top Kyabazinga ministers, Yudaya Babirye and Ahmed Noor Osman, to stop blackmailing her.
Kadaga expressed frustration that despite not being part of the struggle that brought Prince William Nadiope to the throne, the two ministers are making negative comments about her.
"We were very few people who struggled for Kyabazinga's enthronement, but people who were just appointed to work are overriding us," Kadaga said. "In fact, Osman and Babirye should watch out."
She reminded the ministers that she spent six years fighting for Nadiope's ascension, making their contributions insignificant in comparison.
"These people are nothing in the kingdom because they just came on board to work after settling Kyabazinga in his seat, which they must concentrate on instead of blackmailing me," Kadaga said. She was speaking at the wedding ceremony of Busoga Consortium for Development spokesperson, Esther Mirembe, over the weekend.
Kadaga advised the ministers not to abuse her silence, stating, "I have kept quiet for a long time, but these people should be careful about what they are doing."
However, her comments were met with a swift response from Busoga Prime Minister Dr Joseph Muvawala, who defended the ministers.
"All the work being done by the ministers and deputy prime ministers [Katukiros] are being sent by me after being assigned by Kyabazinga; therefore, any mistake should be blamed on me," Dr Muvawala said. He was addressing clan heads at the kingdom headquarters in Bugembe.
Dr Muvawala praised Osman for his efforts in mobilising funds for the kingdom, saying that his work has enabled the smooth running of kingdom activities. The Kyabazinga also commended Osman for bringing in investors to support kingdom activities.

"I gave Mr Osman the duty of looking for development partners to help the kingdom, and you have seen what he is doing," Prince Nadiope said. "I am sure that by June, Mr Osman would have added more development partners on board."
The Kyabazinga also recalled that in the beginning, the kingdom was not doing well because it lacked funders, experience, and unity, which is now being realised with the help of people he appointed to office.
