The Entebbe Chief Magistrate’s Court has further remanded a 27-year-old shoe hawker accused of demeaning President Museveni, his son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba and other people associated with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Juma Musuuza, alias Madubarah was this afternoon sent back to Kigo Prison until December 13 when he will appear in court again for further hearing and bail application on charges of hate speech and spreading malicious information about the First Family and Speaker Anita Among.

The presiding magistrate, Stella Maris Amabilis’ decision was made after the state attorney, Mr Paul Aheebwa Byamukama told court police officers who had come to testify against Musuuza had been called back to their duty stations while the state attorney was attending to another case in a different court.

“Actually my witnesses were here. However, they went to attend to other duties since they are police officers and I informed them that I was in another court,” Mr Byamukama said.

Court heard that in October, Musuuza, while in Wakiso District or thereabout using his TikTok account Madubarah UG through a computer sent or shared information which is likely to ridicule, degrade or demean Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
“If Museveni hands over power to his drunkard son, the country will be destroyed within two days. Let Ugandans pray for our country and ourselves,” he said.

Court heard that in the same month, Musuuza shared information saying, “If Muhoozi takes over power from his farther, the country will be destroyed within two days according to how he drinks and whoever talks, we shall kill or arrest you relating to Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the first son”.

Court further heard that Musuuza said, “…using taxpayers' money to build a mansion which is better than State House and buying bleaching jelly (chemicals) relating to Anita Among, the speaker of parliament”.
