Junior MX Team off to France

What you need to know:

First timer Jamariah Makumbi (65cc) is the only female rider from Uganda and will be in this class with Ethan Paul Musede while Dan Mitima and Jerome Mubiru compete in the 125cc class.

A team of eight riders have left the country for France to take part in the July 5-6 World Junior Championship in romagne France.

The riders led by Miguel Katende of Semka Riding Academy compete in 65cc, 85cc and 125cc and were selected according to their performance in the just concluded 5th round of the National Championship in Kalisizo, Masaka District.

Katende will be featuring in this event for the second time having been on the team in Romania 2023. Other riders in the 85cc class are Jonathan Katende, Isaac Mitima and Adam Kabuye.

FMU deputy vice president and team manager Arthur Blick Jnr, emphasized the importance of representing Uganda with pride and inspired the young athletes to dream big. 

“This is not just about competing, but about representing the spirit of Uganda. Your participation at this level inspires countless young Ugandans to dream big and believe in their potential.” Blick Jr said as the team was flagged off on Monday at the FMU Offices in Lugogo.
