What you need to know:
Exactly four months ago, Kazibwe scored four goals for Capital Night when they beat Roxberry 11-9 in Kiwanga, their only loss this season.
Ian Kazibwe will be sitting on the visitors’ team side on Sunday when Capital Night, a team where he made his name, hosts leaders Roxberry in the Nile Special National Pool League. Roxberry lead the table with 60 points followed by Upper Volta on 64. Capital night is seventh with 39 points.
Exactly four months ago, Kazibwe scored four goals for Capital Night when they beat Roxberry 11-9 in Kiwanga, their only loss this season. But by following his heart, Kazibwe forced a move away from Capital Night to sign an undisclosed deal for Roxberry. He was drafted straight away into the starting five albeit mixed results.
When Roxberry play Capital Night on Sunday in Nabweru, all Kazibwe thinks is help Roxberry win their first league title.
"Our focus is on the league title. We have to win all the games ahead of us and Capital night isn't an exception," Kazibwe said.
Kazibwe, who was an integral part of the team alongside skipper Mark Mukiibi, doesn't expect a warm welcome to a team where he spent almost two seasons.
"I know the arena very well and it will be nice getting back there although in a different uniform. My job will be to win all my games if I'm fielded," he said.
A lot has changed at Capital Night since the departure of Kazibwe with Farouk Mutumba also refusing to play after he was denied a move away.
Team Manager Aaron Muhereza is confident they can complete a double on the leaders.
"We want to prove that we didn't fluke that win in the first round. Most of the players who beat them are still with us," Muhereza said.
Capital Night are smarting from one of their most humiliating losses, 18-2 against Upper Volta last weekend.
Muhereza hopes new additions Ashiraf Misambwa, Klaus Kakooza and Ronnie Kyeyune will rise to the occasion.
Club 408 baying for Mukono blood
An improved Club 408 hopes debutants Greater Mukono don’t complete a double on them in Sunday’s televised game. Greater Mukono, who have been struggling at home, won the reverse fixture 11-9.
Club 408 captain Jondu Sero believes they will not be pushovers.
“We’ve made many changes in our squad and since the second round, we haven’t lost a game yet,” Sero said.
The additions of young players will surely be a boost to the team sitting second from the bottom.
But fourth-placed Greater Mukono coach Ben Kinene is concerned about the home form that has seen them win thrice, losing twice and drawing four times.
Elsewhere, the eastern derby will see Tororo host Mbale at Da Place. The first round, a feisty affair, ended at after 10pm taking more than five hours.
