Roxberry were so relentless that when Ronald 'Kamwanyi' Akampurira finally scored Greater Mukono's sixth goal, the packed iTaano Arena exploded.

Roxberry kept their title hopes alive in the Nile Special National Pool League with a commanding 13-7 win away to Greater Mukono on Sunday.

Roxberry were so relentless that when Ronald 'Kamwanyi' Akampurira finally scored Greater Mukono's sixth goal, the packed iTaano Arena exploded.

The timing was perfect, coinciding with Arsenal's third goal against Manchester City, further fueling the jubilant atmosphere. Fans jumped, sang, and cheered as Kamwanyi saved a bonus point for his team, who had struggled but ultimately salvaged something from the match.

Greater Mukono harboured hopes of an upset against league leaders Roxberry, and their strong start fueled that belief.

Taking an early 3-1 lead, Greater Mukono put Roxberry under immediate pressure.  Joseph Kasozi's win in the sixth frame offered Roxberry a glimmer of hope, but Greater Mukono responded by extending their lead to five frames.

Just as it seemed Greater Mukono might pull off a shocker, Roxberry mounted a furious comeback, winning three straight frames to level the score at 5-5 by halftime.

The second half was a different story. Roxberry seized control, winning five consecutive frames to move within one frame of victory.

With their fans anticipating a bonus-point win, Greater Mukono's Kamwanyi delivered a crucial frame win, temporarily halting Roxberry's momentum. However, Roxberry secured the win, closing out the match with a 13-7 victory.

"It was a tense game. We failed to manage ourselves when we took the lead," Greater Mukono head coach Ben Kinene acknowledged.

Najib Yiga seemed destined for a break-and-finish, the crowd anticipating his final shot. But a misjudgment on the last ball allowed his opponent back into the game.

Yiga got another chance, but he inexplicably potted the cue ball on a simple follow shot from the centre of the table.

Roxberry's lead at the top of the table remains secure, however, with 58 points, seven more than second-placed Scrap Buyers, who survived a scare against Adi's in a 10-10 draw.

Elsewhere, Upper Volta bounced back from two consecutive losses with a convincing 13-7 win against Wakiso City.  Corporate Shooters settled for a 10-10 draw despite having no substitute players and winning the first four frames.

Capital Night's new-look team cruised to a 13-7 victory over Tororo Tigers, highlighted by Kraus Kakooza's perfect four-frame performance. Newly-signed Ashraf Misambwa had a mixed performance, winning one frame and falling to a break-and-finish loss against Caleb Muhiire.
