She Cranes up for final game against South Africa

Kampala- The Spar Proteas on Sunday sealed their Tri-Nations Netball Test Series win against Uganda with a game to spare.

But the She Cranes are yet to submit to the Spar Proteas as they go into today’s final game with new found vigour after winning all the three games against Namibian Desert challenge.

The She Cranes have registered 49-35 and 43-36 losses against South Africa but their three victories of 59-30, 59-28 and finally a 57-27 whitewash against the Namibian Desert Jewels keep them alive as they face world’s number five today at the International Convention Center 2.

Uganda’s defence comprising Joan Nampungu and Shaffie Nalwanja has worked tirelessly to check on the attacking prowess of opponents as well as stealing balls throughout the games.

Shooters Shadiah Nassanga and Irene Eyaru have also managed to shoot accurately to see that She Cranes put up an outstanding show at the test series.

Team captain Stella Oyella says the team is still in good shape, they have not registered any injury and are ready to challenge the Spar Proteas in their final fixture.

She adds that the She Cranes have learnt a lot from the previous two losses and go into the last game with the vigour to win.

“They have already sealed the win but still we shall not give up. We go into this game as strong as before expecting to give them a hard time as well as reducing goal margins,” Oyella told Daily Monitor.
