What you need to know:

Sam Simbwa had earlier said he had resigned his position as SC Villa coach accusing the club of disrespect.

Villa president Ben Missaga has hit back at the club’s former coach, Sam Simbwa, accusing him of lack of professionalism.

This follows comments made by the coach on Thursday, after the two sides parted ways, in which he accused the club of constantly disrespecting him. “We invited him to the club’s disciplinary committee to answer allegations that he has constantly been insulting players but he refused to honour it and we decided to take action.

There have also been other incidents such as that of a player who complained to me this week that he referred to them as rotten tomatoes,” Missaga explained.
He also accused the coach of constant arguments with the club’s fans as well as a boring brand of football. “You inject money in the club expecting to get some entertainment but our style of play has only been stressing.”

Simbwa, according to Missaga also refused to work with Phillip Obwiny who was recently appointed as technical director.
“When you add all those issues it was time to part ways,” he stated.

On claims that the club did not commiserate with Simbwa when he lost daughter, Missaga said the club was not in position to cater for all the coach’s relatives.
“Sometimes it is difficult for the club to cater for extended family members because I learnt that he had only lost a niece.”

Missaga also revealed that Simbwa’s former assistant Ibrahim Kirya and Obwiny will now take charge of the club until the end of the season.
Simbwa signed a one year contract at Villa last year, replacing Steven Bogere.
He previously coached at Express, leading them to the 2012 local league title before moving to Rwanda with Attraco and Police. He won the Uganda Cup with Mbale Heroes in 1999.

Ssimbwa was born in 1967.
He played for three clubs: KK Cosmos (1986), KCC (1987-1995) and Mbale Heroes (1999-2000).
He also played for the Uganda national team between 1989-1993.
