Promising signs for Gaddafi, Blacks Power

Gaddafi once again reassured their fans of the promotion intentions with a commanding 3-0 victory over Booma at their Entebbe Works Grounds over the weekend.
Jonathan Mbula grabbed a brace, scoring early in either half as Davies Kasirye sealed the victory as the side coached by promotion expert Allan Kabonge retained their top spot with 26 points from 12 games.
Blacks Power also maintained their chase with a hard-fought victory as they came from a goal down to beat newcomers Ntugasaze 2-1 in Mityana.
Lawrence Kambugu scored his seventh goal of the season from the spot as early as the fourth minute but Brian Ogwel levelled ten minutes later before Henry Orom completed Innocent Maduka’s good work for the winner in the 80th minute.
Blacks Power, who have played a game more, are level on points with Gaddafi but fall second due to their inferior goal difference. The two sides face each other this Sunday in a battle for the top spot.
Buhimba United retained third place with a 2-1 win over Kaaro Karungi, while fourth-placed Onduparaka edged Kiyinda Boys 1-0 in Arua. Both teams have accumulated 22 points.
In Jinja, Busoga United finally got their long-awaited win since rebranding, edging Arua Hill 2-1, thanks to goals from Edrine Opaala and Isaac Doka.
Despite the result, the two former topflight sides languished in the red zone in 13th and 14th place with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Ntugasaze and Myda, who lost 1-0 to Kataka in Bukedea, are the other sides trapped in the relegation zone.
