Lwengo residents block Mbarara highway in protest over power outage
Police in Kalegero village in Malongo sub county, Lwengo district fired in the air to disperse locals who had blocked off the Mbarara- Masaka highway protesting over a two-month power outage. They used tree branches and grass to close the road. LC1 chairperson for Kasambya Jane Francis Katende said the power poles and cables had been stolen but never replaced.
