The traffic police will begin the strict enforcement of standards in driving schools to ensure that they train drivers of quality. Driving schools which don't meet the requisite standards will face closure. The acting Director Traffic and Road Safety, Lawrence Niwabiine spelt out that driving schools will need to have training grounds and class rooms, among others as some of the conditions. And schools with cars in dangerous mechanical conditions will also be suspended from the business. Meanwhile, the police also warned scrap dealers to desist from keeping the registration plates of vehicles which are meant to be returned to the Ministry of Works and Transport.
