Kenyan police stop Ugandans from crossing to Kenya
Kenyan authorities have closed the border to Ugandans and other nationals from entering into their country. The lockdown at the Busia and Malaba border took effect on Saturday.
It follows the confirmation of the first case of COVID-19 positive test in Uganda. Ugandans, who were traveling by bus to Kenya, were stopped by the Kenya port health services and ordered back.
The closure left several Ugandan travellers and traders who transact in Kenya stranded at the border.
