Ugandans with a knack for playing money games will be the beneficiaries of Shs1.5 billion that Global PS Lotto Investments company, a new lotto firm, has pledged to give away in Kampala.
Mr Surasit Sangkhaphong, the chief executive officer of Global PS, said the company will launch its money games to the public on February 1.
The local company, which is a subsidiary of Global PS Lotto Investment Company in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is replicating the Scratch for Cash money game that was pioneered in Uganda in the late 90s by business man Sudhir Ruparelia, the chairman of Ruparelia Group.
Mr Sangkhaphong said the participating public will win cash between Shs1,000 and Shs50, million by investing between Shs1,000 and Shs1 million.
While winning in the company’s money games is real, chances of losing money to the investors are also high.
Launching the company at a dinner in Kampala on Tuesday, Mr Sangkhaphong said the company is here to add value to the lives of Ugandans.
“We want to contribute to the nation’s good causes,” he said. He added that the company will be very instrumental in giving back to society through its corporate social responsibility programmes.
The company pledged to contribute to education through scholarships, sports equipment, as well social welfare like free water supply, medical checkup.
The programmes will partly be supported by the company’s profit and money that some lucky winners will not take up in the recommended time of the games they play.
