KAMPALA. When teams win championships, players invite their family and friends on to the turf to celebrate with them. The occasion usually comes with plenty of Kodak moments to keep memories of the more often than not once-in-a-lifetime achievements. At the heat of the celebrations, it is always rare for the fans to have a feel of the trophy. But a section of the Hima Cement Heathens fans were more than lucky thanks to hooker Alex Mubiru. When his turn to lift the glittering trophy came, the former Cranes captain took it to the sidelines and gave some fans the opportunity to feel the ‘Holy Grail’. In just seconds, fans from other parts of packed-to-the-rafters Kyadondo Rugby Football Club crowded the area with their smart phones to capture snapshots of the trophy. And as the numbers increased, Mubiru was forced to cut short the opportunity by his teammates who had not yet had enough of the trophy. Hats off to you Mubiru for celebrating with the fans that cheered on Heathens for 14 weeks. You are a true leader!
