Jilted lover hacks wife, arrested

KAMULI. Police in Kamuli hunted down and arrested a man who hacked his wife and abandoned her to die.

Peter Okiru 40 got angry after allegedly finding his lover with another man in Mbulamuti Musobya zone yesterday.

Using a panga, Okiru assaulted and graviously cut 32-year old Christine Aguti’s lips, elbow, and harmed her private parts and later locked her in the house and escaped.

Children passing-by saw blood flowing out of the locked house and alerted neighbors who came to Aguti’s rescue rushing her to Kamuli District hospital as police chased and arrested Okiru at Kasambira as he rode to Masese Jinja.

In his defence filed at Kamuli CPS, Okiru claimed he was devastated after setting up a waragi and malwa business for his lover and she ended up getting another man shunning him.

“I loved Aguti too much, bought her a plot and business and she paid me by giving my things to a Musoga man,” angry Okiru said.

He is to face charges of attempted murder, according to police.
