More expenses. Mr Adolf Mwesigye says the petition to halt sub-county creation was forged.

MANAFWA. The Local Government minister, Mr Adolf Mwesige, has approved the creation of three new sub-counties and two town councils in Manafwa District.
The minister had on June 18 written to the district local government to block the creation of new governance units saying the district council that curved them was not duly constituted, contrary to Section 7 [5] of the local government act. However, in a turn of events, the minister in a June 23 letter wrote to Manafwa district officials recalling the earlier letter and approving of the creation of the new administrative units. They are Bunabutsale, Makenya, Maefe and Bukhadala sub-counties and Buyinza and Buwangani town councils.

Mr Mwesige said the decision to halt the creation of the sub-counties and town councils had caused a lot of tension that culminated in a meeting at the ministry. He said it was discovered that the petition asking for halting the creation of the said sub-counties and town councils was forged.
“In view of the above and the decisions reached in the meeting held on June 17 at the ministry, I write to inform you that the two instruments creating Bunabutsale, Makenya, Maefe and Bukhadala sub-counties and declaring the towns of Buyinza and Buwangani still stand,” reads the letter addressed to the LC5 chairman Manafwa District Mr John Musira.
