Musician Juliana’s son to be buried today

Kampala- Musician Juliana Kanyomozi’s only child, Keron Raphael Kabugo, will today be laid to rest at his father’s ancestral home in Kiryagonja, two kilometres off Matugga Town.

Before burial, a funeral service will be held at All Saints Cathedral starting at 8am until 11am.
The requiem mass is expected to be attended by a galaxy of artistes, the singer’s fans, family, friends, Keron’s friends and the general public.

“We shall have speeches from the family, government officials, fellow musicians and other dignitaries.

Immediately after the service, we will proceed to Kiryagonja where Keron will be laid to rest,” Balam Barugahare, a renowned concerts organiser, who is leading burial arrangements, said.

‘Sharp boy’
Balam describes the late Keron as “sharp and crazy.” “He used to ask hard and challenging questions and on top of that, was so social. He liked hanging around people more than his mother,” he recollects.

A two-day vigil and mourning took place at the residence of Mr Misusera Kabugo, Keron’s grandfather in Bunga Kawuku next to Kawuku Church of Uganda and at Juliana Kanyomozi’s home in Lungujja where mourners were advised against taking pictures of the body.

Keron, 11, was a Primary Six pupil at Aga Khan Primary School.

He breathed his last on Sunday morning at the Agha Khan Hospital in Nairobi where he was battling asthma.

Keron had reportedly suffered an attack two weeks before his death while at school. He was rushed to Nakasero Hospital where the doctors recommended that he should be transferred to Nairobi.
