Police frees Luwandagga’s son, clears him of murder

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Mr Emilian Kayima , the post-mortem report from Mulago National Referral Hospital confirmed that Lwandagga died of natural causes thus ending suspicions of foul play.

When contacted, Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) spokesperson Rafsanjan Tatya said “Luwandagga passed away at about 4am this morning at his home in Namasuba.

“It is now clear that Luwandagga died of natural death and we have therefore set his son free without any charges. That goes along to clear the air and remove any suspicion and foul play,” Mr Kayima said.

William Luwandagga was picked by the community and handed over to the police on suspicions that he killed his father during a domestic brawl. Statements were taken from the four family members that included a widow and two other children who were in the house at the time Luwandagga died.
