Senior police officers moved in new shakeup

Gen Kale Kayihura, the Inspector General of Police has transferred and appointed senior police officers to various positions.

In the latest changes, Assistance Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Abas Byakagaba, who has been the commandant of Senior Staff College Bwebajja, is now the director of Human Resource Development.

Commissioner of Police (CP) Kafeero, who has been on training in Rwanda, replaces Mr Byakagaba at the staff college, in the changes that were communicated to all police units on Thursday.  

AIGP Haruna Isabire has been transferred from the Anti Stock Theft Unit and appointed as director Welfare and Production. CP Fenny Kyomukama replaces AIGP Isabirye.

AIGP Andrew Sorowen who has been in charge of special duties is appointed as Police Sports Liaison Officer with the Ministry of Education and Sports, the National Council of Sports and all the 53 sports bodies and associations in the country.

Gen Kayihura, in the new changes pulled SSP Emmanuel Mukama from Amison Mission in Somalia and appointed him to command the Very Important People Protection Unit.
