Three people have been hospitalized in critical condition at Dr Ambrosoli Memorial Hospital Kalongo in Agago District following a violent fight over a disputed 100 acres piece of land.
The injured, according to local leaders, were attacked from Lugaji village, Adilang Sub County on Monday Morning.
They were identified as Charles Olwoch, 20, Ajulina and Omol 70, all residents of Lugaji village.
Mr Mohamed Okwir, the LC III Chairperson of Adilang Sub County said the attackers, who were armed with machetes, bows and arrows are suspected, to have come from neighboring Akuri village in Lapono Sub County.
Mr Okwir said the land at the center of dispute is situated between the two neighboring sub counties who all claim its ownership.
He added that five people were abducted during the attack before being released following intervention by local leaders in the area.
The Agago District LC V Chairperson, Leonard Ojok Opio, condemned the violent attack and said it could have been avoided if the locals had engaged their leaders to mediate on the matter.
Albert Onyago, the Agago District Police Commander said at least one suspect has been arrested in connection with the violent land fight.
