The Farmers Party of Uganda presidential candidate, Maj Gen (rtd) Benon Biraaro, has advised his rival incumbent NRM’s Yoweri Museveni to retire saying he is aged.

“Mr Museveni is now like an old bull in a kraal. When a bull gets old, you remove it from the herd and let a young one take over. He should be removed by using votes and retired to his home in Rwakitura. A new president can always consult him as an advisor,” said Gen Biraaro.

He was addressing a rally in Ibanda Town last Friday. His rally was attended by few people as most businessmen and women remained busy with their engagements.

The retired general promised to establish coffee and juice factories in Ibanda since the district is dominated by coffee and fruit farmers. He also promised tractors to be availed at every sub-county so that the youth can use them because their parents are now aged and cannot produce food for the entire family.

Gen Biraaro blamed government for running down ranches such as Mbarara Stock Farm, Ruhengeri, Nshaara and prisons farms that are in poor state. He promised to revive them so that the country earns from exporting meat.

He said he would improve the standards of education saying that pupils in Primary Seven and students who have completed Senior Four cannot read a Bible and neither read the novels in their languages.
The retired general asked his supporters to be vigilant on polling day and stop vote rigging. He told them to use smart phones to record every incident, which will be used as evidence in case complaints emerge.
