The National Resistance Movement (NRM) youth in Mukono over the weekend stormed the party’s district offices demanding for youth money from the executive after mobilizing support for the party presidential candidate Yoweri Museveni.

The Youth led bytheir chairman Hakim Kyeswa raided the party offices accusing the NRM chairman Hajji Twahili SSebagala for conniving with the executive to use the youth money from NRM secretariat for their personal gains.

“ Money is always being sent to the NRM executive Mukono but they have never given us anything and yet we are strong NRM youth and always mobilizing people to support NRM party and president Museveni” Kyeswa said.

Kyeswa also added that president Museveni sent over Shs300million to Mukono NRM leaders to help in transportation and mobilization of supporters on his nomination at Namboole stadium but youth weren’t considered.

The vice chairperson for the Mukono municipality youths, Tony Setumba said the secretary general Justine Kasule Lumumba recently came to Mukono and handed shs10 million to Hajji Twahili but he did not consider the youth and now they have vowed to support another candidate if the executive fails to pay them their money in 10 days.
But Hajji Twahili denied getting any youth money from the secretariat or president Museveni.

He said the money [shs10million] that Ms Lumumba gave him recently at Mukono boarding was not for youth but was for flag bearers in Mukono.

He also said No money has ever come from the secretariat specifically for the youth.
He advised them to present their issues to their district youth chairman NRM Muramira so that he can reach the executive and their issues sorted out.
