Blick Jr wants to end year with Mosac Rally victory

KAMPALA.

By his standards, Arthur Blick Jr has had a poor season despite occupying third place on the NRC log.

Ahead of this weekend’s Mosac Rally in Jinja, the outgoing national rally champion cannot finish higher than third position which he currently holds, but has vowed to end on a high by winning the event.

“The car (Subaru N10) has let us down,” Blick noted. “It did not perform to our expectation this season. It has been a learning process but hope next year will be better,” the Shell Helix driver explained.

His self-evaluation is backed by statistics; last year he scored in each and every round on his way to the title. He only failed to score points in the last event, by which time he had already clinched the title.

This season, he has failed to finish twice in Mbarara (suspension) and Kabalega (engine). He has four finishes including three podiums in Kabale (3rd), Masaka (3rd) and Pearl (2nd) while in Fort Portal, he was 10th. “Alwi, like me last season, has scored in the entire six rounds he has participated this season. In Jinja he will not score points while Jas (Mangat) cannot make any mistake. He has to finish in the top two.” Blick was quick to add: “For us we are simply party spoilers.”

Over 30 drivers have registered for the season finale which will have over 120kms of competitive sections.
