The motorsport calendar closed on Boxing Day with Ronald Ssebuguzi, the 2014 NRC champion, winning the Champions Sprint at Festino Cite.

However, third placed Ssemujju was crowned champion after amassing 22 points, two ahead of Ssebuguzi.
A crowd of over nearly 10,000 left wanting for more after Ssebuguzi in Evo9 and Duncan ‘Kikankane’ Mubiru went head to head twice.

Kikankane in Subaru N16 got the better of Ssebuguzi in the first run by three seconds. But the Subaru driver could not stand the pressure, and rolled his car in the second run, leaving Ssebuguzi standing alone. He celebrated with the famous ‘Sebastian Loeb spin’ for over 30 seconds to the delight of the crowd.

“That was for the fans that came in larger numbers. I am satisfied with my overall performance throughout the season, now let us wait for the coming season,” he said after.

Black Widow powered his Subaru N18 to second position, 22 seconds behind Ssebuguzi while Susan ‘Super Lady’ Muwonge in a Subaru N12B finished fourth.

Police lady driver, Winnie Akello making her debut in rally, finished in 24th position along with three other drivers.

The event was sponsored by Big Mikes, C.F.A.O Motors, Fire and Safety, Nsibambi Stores, Coca- Cola, Ambulance Africa, Azam Juice, KR Ssebuguzi Motors and CBS FM.
