KAMPALA. NTV human resource manager Solomon Muhiirwa along with four others will enjoy a rare golden opportunity to drive in a desert after emerging winners in the first draw of the Enoc Dubai Desert Challenge held at City Oil, Namirembe.
Ibrahim Mohamud, Ali Zirimu and Chinese Communications Construction Company (CCC) join Muhiirwa (pictured) who was at loss of words on learning the draw had favoured him.
“I have no words to describe what I am feeling like at the moment,” he told Daily Monitor when contacted yesterday.
Muhiirwa is looking forward to the experience and also thankful to City Oil where he services his car.
“I am excited about driving in the desert, it’s something I have wanted to do for a long time and I am grateful City Oil has made it possible,” he added.
The quadruple will spend three days and four nights in Dubai in a whole expenses paid trip in February next year, touring majority of the attraction sites in UAEs’ largest city.
The draw had a taxi category which saw Jimmy Lubega, a trader from Nabugabo complex who also doubles as a taxi tout, also win a trip to Dubai to experience the feel of cruising some of the latest cars in the desert.
A tearful Lubega struggled for words after jumping onto a ‘bodaboda’ from Nabugabo to catch the ceremony just in time.
“I never expected anything like this, I only serviced a car from here yesterday and I am a winner today,” he said.
Other winners included KIVA investments who won fuel worth Shs100,000 while Amos Mwesigye, Saul Ssetimba and Kranimer Lubega won free City Oil hampers.
The monthly draw will run for six months and it takes servicing a vehicle at any City Oil branch for one to enter the draw.
