KAMPALA. Hopes may have deflated after numbers were cut for the trip to Congo Brazzaville for the All-Africa Games.
But Team Uganda captain Charles Ssekyaaya knows they can fight and claim at the continental event.
“I feel bad that some of my teammates were omitted from the final list,” he told Daily Monitor after receiving the national flag from Commissioner of Sports Omara Apita at Lugogo yesterday afternoon.
“Some of my friends have lost training partners and it’s disappointing,” the weightlifter said. “But I trust my teammates that we’ll brush that aside and hopefully bring medals home.”

An initial contingent of 80 was cut to 46 because of funding.
