Fifa fines Uganda Shs18 million over Togo game

The Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) has fined several countries including Uganda for disciplinary cases during qualifying ties for the 2018 World Cup.
In a communication sent by Fifa on November 7, Uganda has been fined 5000 Swiss Francs (about Shs18 million) because a group of supporters sat in an improper place (emergency exits and stairway) when Uganda hosted Togo in the preliminary round of the qualifiers on November 15, 2015 at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
Besides the fine, Uganda has also been warned that they should always abide by the regulations.
When this reporter tried to reach the Uganda FA chief executive officer, Edgar Watson for comment by the time of filing this story, he was not picking his phone.
Egypt who have already qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup were also fined 20,000 Swiss Francs (about Shs73 million) for improper conduct among spectators when they were signing homophobic chants when Egypt hosted Congo Brazzaville in 2017.
