Hellofood, 40/40 give Akiba Children Christmas Party

It’s the festive season and everyone is excited about it. It is also a time where we get to share with our folks, relatives and the needy in our society. It was in the same spirit that a group of youth under their umbrella body 40 Days over 40 smiles foundation in partnership with Hello food and Vivo energy gave children of Akiba childrens home an early Christmas on Saturday.

The team spent the day playing with the children, singing, dancing and feasting on the food that was served by Hellofood in partnership with their restaurants; Endiro Coffee, The Bistro, Meza gastronomy, Jua Kali and Prunes coffee shop.

“We are honored that HelloFood and its associate restaurants have supported the #BeSanta Christmas party and enabling us to give the full Christmas experience for disadvantaged children. I hope that this gracious and important act is the beginning of a relationship that will create the desired change in the market and communities in which we work." Said Benjamin Rukwengye, Spokesperson of 40/40.

Ron Kawamara, Managing Director of Hellofood Uganda said “we are humbled and delighted to be part of this great cause by 40/40 to put smiles on the faces that often do not celebrate a holiday they hold so dear – Christmas. Our online platforms make it possible for people to get food delivery allover Kampala everyday but this is by far our best delivery of the year. Credit has to go to our partner restaurants, who on hearing what we wanted to do with 40/40, offered incredible support in making the Christmas for the children memorable and we look forward to working together with them on other projects.”

“40/40 foundation, has been able to push all their projects using online platforms, hence showing many that the online sphere is growing in Uganda, and we as Hellofood could not think of a better partner to join in helping make positive change in Uganda,” Kawamara said.
